Citizenship project - Year 2

As part of our project this year, we explored what it means to be British. Our Island life, politics, food and culture.

FOOD

The British Isles is an island surrounded by the sea, many men work as fishermen supplying their daily catch to all the fish and chip shops.

Fish and chips is the classic British take-away food, you will find a fish and chip shop in every town and city in the country.

People eat fish and chips covered in salt and vinegar with their fingers.

I like fish and chips when it is cold. I have salt and vinegar on and I eat them with my fingers. I like scraps with my chips and I eat them out of newspaper.

Another traditional English meal is a Sunday roast: this normally consists of roast beef, yorkshire puddings, roast potatoes, vegetables and gravy.

I like dinner with carrots, sweetcorn, puddings and lots more. I also like gravy and mashed potato.
