Citizenship project - Year 2

As part of our project this year, we explored what it means to be British. Our Island life, politics, food and culture.

Our Capital City - London.

London is the largest city in Britain.

There are many famous buildings in London such as the Houses of Parliament, Tower Bridge, St. Paul's Cathedral and Buckingham Palace.

Postcards from London.

People travel around London using different kinds of transport, a black taxi (a black cab) the tube (an underground railway system) or a famous red double decker bus.

Our Nation has two main leaders.

The Prime Minister, Tony Blair.

He makes new laws controlling everything from schools to hospitals and businesses.

The other is The Queen Her Royal Highness Elizabeth II.

She is head of the royal family and lives in Buckingham Palace in London.

Here's the last photograph of our class working on this year's project.

We are drawing the many images you've seen in the last five pages.
